The upper verse sketches a visually and emotionally evocative natural scene while the lower verse puts a special emphasis on the challenges a traveler faces: "long" journey and "rain-soaked" distance.

travelers through eternity. Even the years wander on. Whether drifting through
life on a boat or climbing toward old age leading a horse, each day is a
journey, and the journey itself is home.”
